Sacred Life Workshop

Sunday, February 12, 2012, 1 to 3 P.M. Led by Sharon Lund, DD

No one knows when their last breath of life will be. Life can change in an instant. Using the heartfelt questions from Sharon’s award-winning book, Sacred Living, Sacred Dying, in this interactive workshop you’ll be inspired to tap into your fondest memories to discover the importance of creating a tangible and cherished gift for your loved ones, friends, and future generations – Your Legacy.

After you review your life journey, you’ll discover ways to create a unique memorial or celebration which reflects your personality and life story. Your loved ones can then honor your life rather than mourn your death.

When people share their memories this way they feel uplifted. They stop taking life for granted and reprioritize their lives. This process can lessen grief and allow memories to live on in the hearts and minds of others. Break the silence about dying and death, and give the ultimate gift – Your Legacy.

Bring your notebook and pen.

Hawaii Premiere
MUSTANG MAN:
How a Wild Horse Tamed a Vietnam Vet

Sunday, February 12, 2012, 3:30 to 5:00 P.M.

In 2002, Dale Harker’s doctor told him he had from 18 months to 7 years to live. Suffering from cancer due to exposure to Agent Orange during his tour of duty in Vietnam, he struggled with his experiences of combat in the jungle and the anti-war environment in 1969. As Dale takes another step in turning his life of hate and anger
into love and joy, share the journey as he fulfills his lifelong dream of taming a wild mustang.

A must-see for anyone with a chronic illness, frustration with life, military background/interest, animal lover, and anyone who wants to be uplifted and inspired by Dale’s story of triumph over adversity.

This decorated veteran shares how the experiences of a soldier are similar to those of wild horses, and how war prepared him to be a better trainer and teacher. Ultimately, he finds redemption in nature and his beloved horse, learning patience, love, and self acceptance as he finally tells his story and encourages other veterans to do the same.

Join the film’s producers for a documentary screening and discussion.
